History and Nature Collide
We sure sure appreciated Larry Lof coming from Brownsville to present his discussion on celebrating nature, history, and cultural heritage together. He provided intriguing tidbits on the early history of Brownsville and the RGV, as well as discussed how the Gorgas Science Foundation came to oversee the Sabal Palm Audubon Sanctuary and got involved in rehabilitating historic buildings like the Rabb House. He tied it all together and made it relevant to Weslaco to show how nature and history can combine to tell a story that is unique to Weslaco and the Valley through Frontera Audubon and the Skaggs Historic Home.
