Our faithful butterfly expert, Mike Rickard, perambulated the Frontera grounds on March 15, 2014, and reports seeing the following butterflies and dragonflies:

American Snout
Gulf Fritillary
Red Admiral
Mexican Bluewing
Phaon Crescent
Texan Crescent
Elada Checkerspot
Tropical Leafwing

Mexican Wedgetail
Desert Firetail
Blue-fronted Dancer
Common Green Darner
Blue Dasher
Variegated Meadowhawk
Red Saddlebags
Roseate Skimmer

That’s twenty-seven species of butterflies and eight kinds of dragonflies/damselflies.  Come on over and see how many you can find.
We are open from 8 AM to 4 PM on Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 PM on Sundays.  The address is 1101 South Texas Boulevard in Weslaco.
