Two very special birders from Arizona are offering up their expertise and willingness to share their volunteer time at Frontera Audubon while spending a month in the Valley birding. They are Rick Romea and Cindy Sprecher, who will begin leading bird walks each Wednesday and Friday morning. Rick is a very accomplished birder with years of experience leading field trips, and Cindy is a keen eyed spotter…the two make a great team for beginners, novices and experts to follow through the Frontera thicket learning the sights and sounds of our resident and migratory population. Walks begin Friday, Jan. 22 and run through Wed., Feb. 3 and are offered free to Frontera members. Nonmembers will be charged $3. Those interested should gather at the Frontera Audubon Visitors’ Center around 8:45 for coffee and depart at 9a.m.
